The Force for Narrow-minded Marriage Lobby has launched a new campaign aimed at enticing Australians to just go ahead and “be a jerk”.
“Our research has found that most Australians are liberal-minded and fair when it comes to people loving each other, and obviously as a neo-conservative religious authority we would like to change that attitude immediately,” Ms Markel, CEO of the lobby group said.
“We recognise that people would have to be jerks to vote against something that doesn’t affect their lives one bit, so this campaign aims to make that message really simple – just go ahead and be a jerk.”
The campaign ad features a woman who is undecided about which way to vote, before an anti-vaccination rep alleviates her concern by telling her “it’s okay to be a jerk sometimes.”
The ad will air from tonight at an unusually loud volume to ensure its message of being a jerk gets solid traction.
* If you, or any of your family, know someone who may be affected by a jerk, you can call a special help line on 1300-PISS-OFF-JERKS and seek a qualified councillor’s advice on how to get them out of your life.
