Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has declared today his proudest as leader of Australia after his approval rating increased by 3 per cent this week.
The minor gain in popularity was the talk of the Liberal Party cabinet meeting today, with most ministers shocked by the news.
“Wow, we did something right? I’d have to check the veracity of that data,” Mr Dutton said.
Meanwhile Mr Turnbull could not resist the opportunity to gloat publicly about the news.
“I would die a happy man today knowing that my government has finally achieved something,” the PM told reporters in Canberra.
“This small rise in approval rating documented by a single poll is quite simply the most I’ve ever accomplished as a politician – sometimes I’m actually in awe of my own ability – I really am.”
Mr Turnbull’s popularity is already slightly down as a result of his smug reaction to the poll.
