Daly Cherry-Evans has secured his playing future in emphatic style today by buying his employer, the Manly Sea Eagles.
“Let’s face it, I have plenty of spare change at the moment so I thought I’d take my commitment to the club to the next level and buy the lot,” a jubilant Cherry-Evans said in between tokes of his Cuban cigar.
“I’ve always liked the idea of having skin in the game which is why I’m also toying with the idea of buying Brookvale too.”
When quizzed on whether he meant Brookvale Oval, Cherry-Evans was quick to clarify.
“No, the actual suburb of Brookvale. It looks like a nice a place to build a city and raise several families.”
Given his $345m playing contract, it would appear likely the Manly number 7 will continue on his buying spree moving forward into the future.
“I’m currently toying with the idea of buying Trent Barrett too, but I’m not sure about it frankly because my dealers tell me he is likely to depreciate in value pretty quickly,” a clearly unhinged Cherry-Evans said.
