Sharks forward Andrew Fifita says he is planning to make his 15 minutes of game time count when he pulls on the Tongan jersey in the upcoming World Cup.
“This is not about money or anything, this is about showing genuine passion for my country,” Fifita said this morning.
“I want to give Tonga everything I can before I take a load off for the final 65 minutes.”
Fifita’s declaration of ‘very brief aggression’ has the major players in the World Cup competition worried according to recent reports.
“Andrew is a very talented player and when a guy like him makes a statement like that you’d be a fool not to sit up and take notice,” Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga said.
“To counter Fifita, the Australian team has installed specially-designed bench warming devices to keep our players comfortable as they watch the game.”
“We expect Andrew to work pretty hard on the bench so we have also employed additional staff to attend to player welfare just in case he starts working overtime for Tonga.”
