Newcastle Knights legend Paul Harragon has offered to hand out one sexy dance session a month to any player willing to move to Newcastle.
The offer arrives on the back of a tough recruitment session for the Knights, who have most recently lost out on the services of Jack Bird to the Broncos.
“I’m saying it right here and now that I will oil up and do what I have to do to get a marquee player to the Knights,” Harragon told The Matty Johns Show on Monday.
“I’ll give a full 30 minute performance but obviously no touching below the waist – unless you are Cooper Cronk of course, you can swing on all of the equipment.”
This is not the first time the Knights have taken unusual steps to secure the signature of high profile recruits, with the club unsuccessfully offering Jake Mamo piggyback rides around the Newcastle CBD last year.
“Yeah, it turns out nobody wanted to be near Jake,” Knights CEO Matt Gidley told us.
“And it didn’t help Jake only wanted to be the passenger – but you live and you learn.”
In further recruitment news, the Knights have secured the services of 42-year-old Tony Grimaldi.
“Yeah, the leagues club needed a new glassy,” Knights Coach Nathan Brown said.
