Critically acclaimed actress Meryl Streep has caused controversy in the United States by shockingly dressing up in orangeface at a gala event yesterday, a practice that the country’s orange coloured community want banned.
“We find this kind of carry on deeply offensive,” claimed an oompa loompa from Florida.
“The orange community have fought long and hard to be treated just like everyone else – so to see someone of the stature of Meryl behave like this is really disappointing.”
The seven Americans who are formally identified as members of the orange race, oompa loompa number 3, Donald Trump and several large rancid pumpkins, are reportedly considering launching a class action against Streep.
Despite the fallout, Streep contends playing Donald Trump is the highlight of her long and illustrious career.
“The opportunity to play such a monster was just too difficult to pass up,” Streep told Empire Magazine.
